Who are we?

Serious Oomph was founded in 2014 by Maf Bishop, an award-winning creative copywriter with twenty-five-years’ experience of working with some of the world’s finest brands and organisations. Whenever the situation demands it, we gather together a team of expert writers and thinkers to help tackle any kind of words-based creative challenge.

We’re curious, thoughtful and enjoy a tricky creative challenge. We’re good with words but we also think visually and enjoy collaborating with talented designers and switched-on strategists. Our main objective is a happy and successful client; we work hard to make it happen and we do our best to make it a pleasure.    

When should you get in touch?

It all depends on your project. If words need to be part of your initial creative thinking, we’re ready to get involved in the early stages, tackling your brief with an open mind, a blank page and a sharp pencil. But we’ll also happily plug into your process later on – whatever works best for you. If you’re not sure, just have a word.

 

Why not just use AI instead?

Because words matter. Of course, AI is a useful tool for some straightforward writing tasks. But if you really want your brand to stand out and connect with people, you need words and ideas that are fresh, intelligent and different. And that requires genuine human insight and creative expertise. You won’t get that from your little robot helper. The good news is that you will get it from us.
